Background story for 80’s Murder at the Roller Rink*:
It’s 1988, and the Podunk Roller Rink is filled with teens showing off their shoulder pads and mullets - but it’s a strangely assorted group. They ignore each other but why are the cool kids, the loners and the nerds all here together skating? And they’re being watched from the sidelines by a mismatched group of adults, including rink employees, retired roller derby pros, and the town prudes.
Suddenly there is a scream. The body of Kevin Floosey has been found in the back hallway. It looks like someone strangled him with a leg-warmer. Poor Kevin just wanted to dance, or did he?
It’s up to us to figure out who did it. Maybe it was YOU!
How a murder mystery dinner fundraiser works:
Arriving guests are assigned character roles and given their back-stories. They will share their stories, as directed by the guide given to them, across multiple rounds of game play.
Other guests act as detectives, listening to and questioning the suspects.
Dinner and dessert will be served between game rounds.
All guests will “identify” the murderer, and the case will be solved.
Top costumes, detectives, and characters will be recognized.
BCLA will gratefully thank all attendees for their support for their mission.
*Hint - Use the background story to guide your costumes
